Description

Dainfern College Senior Preparatory offers an educational experience that is relevant and dynamic, providing a stimulating learning environment where dedicated staff engage our students through learning experiences that address the whole child. We believe that innovative learning experiences foster a ‘growth mindset’ and we strive to develop a culture of thinking and a curiosity for learning in our students. Class teaching occurs at Grade 4 and Grade 5 levels, whereas Grades 6 and 7 enjoy input from specialist subject teachers. The core subjects of Mathematics, English and the additional languages remain a key focus, while aspects of the other traditional school subjects are incorporated into a cross-curricular programme that teaches core 21st Century skills such as higher order thinking, problem solving, communication, teamwork and reflection. We have a student-centred philosophy where students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning journey. At Dainfern College Senior Preparatory, we believe in growing and challenging our children in all spheres – academic, sporting, cultural, leadership and service. We offer an extensive range of extramural activities with something to interest and extend every child. Our College is a place of learning where acceptance and belonging prevail, and our holistic approach to education is driven by innovation and excellence.
