Welcoming boys and girls aged 3 to 5 years, Brescia Bears is an immersive experience inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and the ethos and values of an Ursuline school.
At Brescia Bears we cherish the uniqueness of each child, and we recognise and nurture the diverse ways children learn, explore, and express themselves. Our approach aligns seamlessly with the Reggio Emilia philosophy, creating spaces where ideas are shared, critical thinking is supported, and listening, dialogue, and questioning become collaborative tools for relationship-building and problem-solving. We champion child-centred learning where children are seen as active and capable learners, whose interests, curiosity, and unique perspectives guide their educational experiences. We encourage collaboration and communication, nurturing social skills as children work together and share ideas on long-term projects inspired by their interests. Our teachers document and capture learning experiences through various media making children's learning visible to parents. We value strong partnerships between parents and teachers and active parent involvement is fostered. An aesthetic learning environment is considered the ‘third teacher’ and our open rooms, flooded with natural light, create an inviting atmosphere, promoting well-being, creativity, and a natural curiosity as the catalyst for investigation. The garden serves as an outdoor classroom offering a hands-on experience with nature. Sandpits, balancing paths, swings, a climbing deck with slides, mud paths, bike tracks, building rockeries, climbing walls, an outdoor kitchen and a play hut are all designed to encourage all aspects of physical and emotional development through play. The interactive kitchen space offers the joy of culinary exploration. The parent lounge and coffee shop provide welcoming spaces for parents to connect, share experiences, and enjoy a moment of relaxation.
