Getting seated home doing nothing when you know you passed your metric is such a bad idea for your career. This is the time to chase for your dream career and choose what best suits your metric results and yourself.

SA Mint has an apprentice programme for students who want to advance their careers within the financial industry; the programme is an ideal for students who do not have enough funds to pay for their studies taking into account that apprentice programmes don’t require trainees to pay for their training but rather get paid.
The minimum qualification requirements for this programme are metric subjects with mathematics and science and four engineering related subjects at N5 level including mathematics and Science with pass mark of 60% or more on standard grade.

Certain steps should be adhered to in the apprentice process and these are as follows:
Step 1: Selected applicants are required to go through a 26 weeks course which covers aspects such as training modules in theory and stimulated practical for trade. The phase will be completed at SEFSA Centre.

Step 2: Prior to completing step 1, the trainee will cover all the modules for the trade by way of practical workplace experience for a minimum period of 54 weeks. The step will be conducted at South African Mint.

Step 3: When steps 1 and 2 are done, successful applicants will be enrolled to begin their trade tests.
