Foodbev SETA Bursary programme 2015

You might have passed your metric examinations but was never offered a place to study at any local university and college simply because you can’t afford to pay for your studies; but that doesn’t mean it’s an end to your dreams because Foodbev SETA is inviting prospective first year and postgraduate full time, unemployed students who enrolled at university for the 2015 academic year to apply for study bursaries which are relevant to the food and beverage manufacturing industry.

Students who qualify for this programme will be funded for tuition, books and other learning materials, accommodation and meals at registered university hostels. To get this bursary, you should undergo a study in any of the following undergraduate programmes which have been identified as scarce skills in the food and beverage manufacturing industry:

  • Bsc mechanical engineering
  • Bsc Electrical Engineering
  • Bsc Electronics Engineering
  • BCom/BCompt in Accounting/Finance
  • Bsc. Food Science/Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology
  • B Bus Sc Marketing
  • Bsc Oneology
  • Degree in Environmental Health Science
  • Degree in Consumer Science
  • BCom
  • Diploma in food Technology
  • Diploma in Production Management
  • Diploma in Packaging Management
  • Diploma in Operation Management
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • Diploma in Electronics

The bursary is also available to students who want to study in some of the following postgraduate programmes Masters/PhD

  • Bsc Hons. Mechanical Engineering
  • Bsc Hons. Electrical Engineering
  • Bsc. Hons Electronics Engineering
  • BCom/BCompt Hons in Accounting/Finance
  • Bsc Hons. Food Science/Chemistry/biochemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology
  • B Bus Sc Hons Marketing

You must be a full time student in order to qualify for this bursary; the requirements for this bursary are as follows:

  • A strong academic record accompanied by a need for financial assistance
  • Special consideration shall be given to female applicants as well as applicants living with disabilities and applicants living with disabilities and applicants from previously disadvantaged backgrounds
  • Students should not have an existing bursary
  • Students will be required to complete an application from available on the Foodbev SETA wesite at www.foodbev.co.za that needs to be submitted together with all supporting documents as required on the application form
