Foodbev SETA Bursary 2015: Bursaries For Engineers

The engineering sector is one of the most paying sectors in South Africa hence many students who finish their matric would want to enrol for engineering studies. Foodbev SETA has an opportunity for you; the company is offering the latest 2015 bursary programme for engineers. The Foodbev SETA Bursaries 2015 are available for those candidates who are studying engineering in South Africa. The Bursary Programme 2015 will manage your educational expenses, and you will be able to study without any tension.

South Africa has a number of bursary opportunities but you should join the Foodbev SETA bursary programme. The Foodbev bursary programme is an opportunity that should be used by interested candidates.  As a part of its skills development initiatives, FoodBev SETA annually awards bursaries for studies aligned to critical and scarce skills that are identified in the food and beverages manufacturing sectors. Such critical and scarce skills are identified through annual reports submitted by employers, as required by the Skills Development Act.

As such, FoodBev SETA invites full-time students to apply for bursaries for studies conducted during 2015, as per the programmes listed below.

UNDERGRADUATE BURSARIES (BF2015U) – First Year Students Only
The following areas have been identified as scarce skills in the Food and Beverages Manufacturing sector:

  • BSc Mechanical Engineering
  • B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
  • BSc Electrical Engineering
  • B Tech Electrical Engineering
  • BSc Electronics Engineering
  • B Tech Electronics Engineering
  • B Tech Production Management
  • Diploma in Production Management
  • Diploma in Packaging Management
  • B Com
  • B Computer
  • B Sc Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Food Science
  • B Tech Food Technology
  • B Bus Sc Marketing
  • Degree in Consumer Science
  • Degree in Environmental Health Science
  • BSc Oenology

Full time students enrolled for their first year of studies, as stipulated above, for either a 3 or 4-year qualification are invited to apply.

The Bursary Grant is available to full time students to subsidise research and/or innovation project costs leading to a post-graduate qualification, which is deemed to be relevant to the food and beverage manufacturing industry.  Preference will be given to research studies leading to a PhD degree.

How to Apply for Foodbev SETA Bursaries 2015: The New Bursary Programme in South Africa
All completed application forms and documents must be submitted to FoodBev SETA by 28 February 2015.
Applications can be physically submitted at 13 Autumn Street, Rivonia, 2128.
No applications via mail will be accepted, and no applications received after 28 February 2015 will be taken into consideration.
A panel of evaluators appointed by FoodBev SETA will adjudicate applications. The FoodBev SETA Board will ratify the decision of the panel and their final decision will be binding.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome starting 30 March 2015.
